Reyna Rios

Reyna Rios-Starr is a multi-hyphenate creative whose work spans acting, producing, and writing. Born in Gómez Palacio, Durango, Mexico, and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. As someone who is bicultural, themes of identity naturally seep into her work, influencing the stories she tells and the characters she brings to life.

As an actor, Reyna has built an impressive portfolio of credits in independent films, including Cucuy, Ave Maria, Theater People, Hostess, among others. In 2021, she expanded her creative pursuits by stepping into the role of producer, blending her on-set experience with skills honed in customer service, network management, and organization. Her producing projects Searchlight, The Part We Keep, Birdie Cricket, Lengua, and Ave Maria have received recognition at independent film festivals, resonating with audiences across genres, from sci-fi to heartwarming family comedies and deeply emotional, character-driven stories. In her writing, Reyna focuses on developing scripts that highlight Latina protagonists and explore the complexities of Mexican American identity and experiences.
